3D PRINTED ELEMENTS, 3D PRINTED GOLD-PLATED KANGAROO TEETH, SEEDS, OXIDISED 925 SILVER
To coincide with the National Gallery of Victoria exhibition Colony: Frontier Wars , the NGV Design store commissioned indigenous artist Maree Clarke to produce a range of contemporary jewellery. Maree’s inventive jewellery collection, Thung-ung Coornag (Kangaroo teeth necklace), combined customary organic materials such as kangaroo teeth and seeds with 3D printed forms modelled from kangaroo teeth, echidna quills and crow feathers.
I had the pleasure of working with Maree and NGV curators Simone LeAmon and Myles Russell-Cook on this exciting project, with my new studio serving as the location for the assembly of the collection from 1000’s of components.
Necklaces from the collection are available from the NGV Design store.
